An enduring, reparative, and people-powered democracy
Rising authoritarianism presents an opportunity for those of us building an enduring, reparative, and people-powered democracy; our equal and opposite reaction to rising authoritarianism could quicken the pace of building a pro-democracy majority.
The frontlines of authoritarianism are in every community–school boards, local and state governments, sheriffs, local news, local elections—
—as well as in intentionally divisive national and state narrative and policy fights waged by the authoritarian right against LGBTQ+ communities, the integrity of democratic elections, public schools and teachers, workers and organized labor, immigrants, secularism, and beyond.
POWER & SOLIDARITY
Attendees from many different communities – frontline organizers and activists, nonprofit leaders and staff, union organizers and members, educators, donors, elected and government officials, and more – can expect to:
Deepen a shared analysis of the authoritarian right and sharpen strategic organizing and narrative frameworks that can defeat and out-compete the right with a long-term agenda for change.
