Yolanda Roth
As Strategic Partnerships Director, Yolanda Roth brings over 20 years experience in organizing, training, and ethical lobbying. In this position, Yolanda advances movements, campaigns, and coalitions by building, maintaining and aligning strategic partnerships with local & national allies both old and new. By developing strong collaborative channels within people-first movements, she builds deep-rooted partnerships with labor & community organizations. Through her relationship-building skills, she works with campaigns at every level of government.
Yolanda comes to us from Milwaukee, WI, where she first started organizing in support of LGBTQ+ artists and musicians. She came to Minneapolis to work in corporate finance and immediately began volunteering with homeless and at-risk youth. As Chair of CWA Local 7250’s Legislative Political Action Committee and the Executive Board’s Member-at-Large, she focused on training, mentoring, and organizing union members to be allies in social and political movements. Among the campaigns she has worked on are Stop Line 3, $15Now, Mobilize Bank Workers, Single Payer Healthcare, Stop Payday Loans, BLM, and many more. You can see her doing some of this work in the first episode of season two of Netflix’s Dirty Money. There you will catch a glimpse of Yolanda at a bank workers rally, doing what she does best.
Currently, Yolanda is politically mobilizing and ethically lobbying for a better Minnesota. Her most recent work revolves around Democracy, economic justice, public safety and worker’s rights. More specifically, she is working on Democracy protections, rent stabilization, reimagining safety/policing, organized labor support. In her downtime, Yolanda moonlights as a singer/songwriter and enjoys spending time with her partner, Ed, and their pitbull, Stanley.
